Some grain mills will allow you to crack grains as well as make flour. The smaller the cracked size, the faster this will cook. If you don’t have a grain mill, try a heavy duty blender.

CRACKED WHEAT CEREAL (Pantry Cooking II)

3/4 cup water
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup cracked wheat

Bring salted water to a boil. Stir in wheat. Reduce heat to low. Cover and cook 10 minutes or until water is absorbed. Sweeten with brown sugar or honey before serving with milk. Serves 1.
