Banana Nut Cake Bar

Banana bars without bananas and without eggs.

These moist banana-flavored cake bars are best when you use out-of-date ingredients! Make them when ripe bananas are not available and time is short.

BANANA NUT CAKE BARS (Pantry Cooking II)

1 package (4 serving size) banana instant pudding
Milk
1 yellow cake mix
1 cup chopped pecans, divided
1 can vanilla frosting

Prepare a 9×13 baking pan according to directions on the cake mix box. Mix pudding with milk according to package directions. Add dry cake mix and mix with an electric mixer until cake mix is moistened. Stir in 1/2 cup chopped pecans. Spread in the prepared pan. Bake at 350o for 30 minutes. Frost when cool and sprinkle remaining chopped pecans on top.
