Fresh dill weed on a lined dehydrator tray

Some volunteer dill plants were shading the sage in my herb bed and were outside their designated location. Time to dry dill weed. It’s easy. Here’s how:

DILL WEED

Wash dill weed and shake off excess water. Break smaller stems of dill weed off the main stem/branch and discard the large stem/branch. Lay small stems on lined dehydrator trays. Dry for 6 to 8 hours at 105o.

When completely dry and cooled, pull the dried fronds from the stems. Stored in a sealed jar.

If you find yourself with lots of dried dill weed, fill 4-ounce canning jars with the dried dill weed, attach a recipe that uses it, and give it as a gift. Here are some recipes found on Pantry Cooking Plus that use dill weed.
