Spiced Sugar

A step up from regular cinnamon sugar, this spiced sugar is wonderful on top of French toast, buttered toast, and pancakes. Sprinkle it on fresh fruit or stir into hot cacao drinks.

SPICED SUGAR (Pantry Cooking: Unlocking Your Pantry’s Potential, page 46)

1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon ground cardamom
1/4 teaspoon ground coriander
1/8 teaspoon ground cloves

Combine ingredients in a blender and process until the sugar is very fine in texture. Store in a covered jar in a cool, dry place. Sprinkle on fruit, pancakes, or French toast. Makes 1 cup.
