Four kinds of cooked cereal

I find that cold cereal doesn’t sustain my energy levels very long, but cooked cereals do. There is a big variety of cooked cereals available, especially if you buy from sources other than regular grocery stores. Try non-traditional grocery stores like Sprouts or Whole Foods; try Azure Standard or Amazon. Here are some I’ve found and tried:

Quick oats
Rolled oats
Steel cut oats
Zoom (wheat flakes)
Cream of the West (whole grain cream of wheat)
Cream of Wheat
Cream of whole wheat
Cream of buckwheat
Cream of barley
Cracked wheat
Wheat flakes
Barley flakes
Rye flakes
Triticale flakes

I’ve also cooked most whole grains for breakfast. My most common are wheat, barley, oat groats, rye, spelt, kamut, and quinoa.
